In May 1974, RSS chief Madhukar Dattatraya Deoras spoke at a lecture series in Pune about caste-based discrimination and social equality within the Hindu fold.
Deoras, who was born on 11 December 1915, staunchly opposed caste discrimination and brought about important changes in RSS functioning that had a long-lasting impact.
