In fact, it is the Gandhis who represent the lofty ideals which suited booted highly educated people gleaned in western europe (as I did too!). However, the majority of Indians are cheering on, Ram Ram! Someday, there will be many more highly educated people who demand more sensitivity and equity for minorities, over and above equality. Until that day, Modi or his ilk will stay in power.

There’s also a greater fatigue with constitutional principles and people just want private goods and shut down public goods. The people in short, are scum.
