There is also another side to this coin. Which is apartments not allowing people to enter without completing 14 days quarantine even though they test negative. Case in point is that of my aunt and uncle (>80 years old) who returned to Bangalore from Singapore couple of weeks back. After 7 days Inst Quarantine and testing negative they returned to their apartment only to be stopped by the Landlord and his gundas from entering because they were not in quarantine for 14 days. We had to call the police to get them entry. The story does not end here. In the night my uncle gets a call (from a gunda who refuses to identify himsefl) threatening that their bones will be broken if they are seen venturing outside for the next week. How did he get his number, clearly shared by the Landlord, right?
While there are apartments which go out of the way to help people in quarantine by providing them support with errands, purchases etc, there are few people in society who have neither empathy nor respect to rules.
