Kolkata: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday slammed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee “for running a police state” and said her “misplaced” stance about constitutional norms reflects “authoritarianism” which has no place in a democracy.
“West Bengal is, unfortunately, emerging as a ‘police state’ with anyone posting on social media, to the distaste of the ruling dispensation, gets a police knock at his door,” the governor said in a letter to the chief minister.
He said it is time for the chief minister’s “tryst with reality” and to get down to provide relief to the people suffering from the coronavirus pandemic.
“The bitter truth is – People in the state only know only too well ‘Who in the State is a usurper and extra-Constitutional fountain of power’! Who runs government and syndicates! Who is this ABCD! An open secret! Surely I am not the one, I can assure you that I am reasonably updated about affairs of state,” Dhankhar wrote in the letter to Banerjee.

The people of Bengal are “baboos” wannabies, proud of lack of history, achievements, inventions, industries and patents, full of bragging, Mamta represents FRUSTRATION 25 hours per day. Indians do not resemble bengali babus. , are more practical .

I have never seen such activism by any governor throughout my life. Has Dhankar, in his entire lifetime seen any President of India in such active mode ? His heart will say no , never , but his loyalty might argue otherwise.
No use of writing about this CM. She spoiled the complete image of WB in the extreme manner.
But Sir, your mentor Modi is running the entire country as a police state. If you don’t believe me, just stand at the nearest crossroads and criticize his policies. And then there are numerous clones that he has spawned.
There a complete method to her madness. She knows that a large section of her vote bank are opposed to lockdown. Hence by not imposing lockdown strictly and by fudging death figures she hopes to ride back to power in 2021. That is the only thing that matters to her.
Dhankar, Governor of West Bengal is running a Political party ie BJP. Since he is a Governor and has some legal immunity that makes him speak lies. Since the day he arrived sent by Modi without any consultations with the state Govt. Dhankar is raising one after another allegations without any substance aimed at using his office people’s anger for whatever reasons. Dhankar, has been and is Chancellor of some of the best universities of West Bengal where also he faced agitating students and even teachers. Dhankar, is working on behalf of BJP keeping en eye on upcoming Assembly elections. But Mamata Banerjee is still very popular with the people of Bengal though she leads a party a bunch of indiscipline and quarreling among themselves making law and order problem.
