Actor Pooja Bhatt joins Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra in Telangana, walks alongside Rahul Gandhi

Bhatt is the first person from the Hindi film industry to show her support for the Yatra, which has entered the 56th day.

New Delhi: Actor and director Pooja Bhatt joined the Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra as the walkathon took off from Shamshabad in Hyderabad Wednesday morning.

The Yatra which began in September has completed over a month on the road and is presently passing through Telangana.

In videos shared by the Congress, Bhatt could be seen walking in the front with party leader Rahul Gandhi while having an animated conversation with him.

Bhatt is the first person from the Hindi film industry to show support for the Yatra, touted as one of the party’s largest mass contact exercises in recent times.

On Tuesday, newly elected Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge also joined the match and made a public address in Hyderabad.

The walkathon has passed through Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka before beginning the Telangana leg of its journey.

The 3,570-km Bharat Jodo Yatra took off from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on 7 September and will end in Srinagar covering 12 States in 150 day.

The march entered its 56th day Wednesday.
