In today’s featured cartoon, R. Prasad takes a swipe at the proliferation of political strategists. He refers to Prashant Kishor’s (now failed) negotiations to work with or join the Congress, while the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), which Kishor founded, struck a deal with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). The Congress is in opposition to the ruling TRS in Telangana. Sabka saath, apna vikas (everyone’s support, our own development) is a twist on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan sabka saath, sabka vikas (everyone’s support, everyone’s development).

Satish Acharya | Twitter/@satishacharya

Satish Acharya also takes a dig at the speculation about Prashant Kishor joining the Congress and reviving the party’s fortunes.

Sandeep Adhwaryu | The Times of India

Sandeep Adhwaryu comments on the re-election of French President Emmanuel Macron. Despite fears about the rise of the far Right in the country, Macron defeated his far-Right rival Marine Le Pen Sunday by a 17 per cent margin. Adhwaryu contrasts France’s endorsement of the pro-European, centre-Right Macron with the politics of its neighbour, Brexit Britain.

Alok Nirantar | @caricatured/Twitter

Amid rising inflation — including soaring food prices — Alok Nirantar takes a jibe at a proposal, reportedly made by the GST Council, to increase the GST rates on 143 items, from TV sets to perfumes, which would drive prices up further.

Nala Ponnappa | Twitter/@PonnappaCartoon

With Covid cases on the rise once more, Nala Ponnappa draws on the mask mandates that have been re-imposed in several states, including Delhi, Karnataka, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
