The best Indian cartoons of the day, chosen by editors at ThePrint.

The selected cartoons appeared first in other publications, either in print or online or on social media and are credited appropriately.

The lead cartoon of the day by Surendra in The Hindu pokes fun at the Supreme Court ruling Tuesday that declared khap panchayat rulings on marriages to be illegal. Over the years, khap panchayats or kangaroo courts run by village elders have passed quite a few regressive orders on inter-faith and inter-caste marriages.

In a cartoon about data breaches in the country, Hemant Morparia hilariously predicts that soon the government will ask people to link their Aadhaar biometrics to their ‘likes’.

The dominant theme in cartoons of the day has been the CBSE board examination paper leaks. Manjul in Firstpost shows that students already have access to the question paper, they just need the answer sheet.

E.P. Unny in Indian Express shows HRD minister Prakash Javadekar promising to take action about the leaks and holding re-examinations. Unny uses Narendra Modi’s book Exam Warriors to poke fun about the incident.

Gokul Gopalakrishnan in The Asian Age News shows how Modi’s house has several ‘leaks’. The Narendra Modi app, the Aadhaar breaches, CBSE papers and as well as Karnataka poll dates. Only time will tell if he can hold up the house despite the leaks.
