Antiguan agency Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) issued a press release saying that the diamond merchant Mehul Choksi’s was granted citizenship after “stringent background checks”. Cartoonist Sandeep Adhwaryu makes a pun out of the word “check” and hilariously illustrates how the fugitive businessman gave “cheques” to get his citizenship granted.
