Woman who accused Haryana BJP chief Badoli & singer Rocky Mittal of gang rape claims threat to life

A gang rape case was lodged against Badoli and Mittal at Kasauli police station in December. Badoli’s wife Geeta has called the allegations politically motivated, and demanded CBI probe.

Gurugram: Days after she filed a complaint of gang rape against Haryana BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli and singer Rocky Mittal, the complainant has alleged that her life is in danger.

A 5 minutes and 37 seconds long video being circulated on X and WhatsApp purportedly shows the victim tearfully saying, “My life is in danger. They were consumed by brutality. They did not even consider their age.”

She also said, “For one and a half years, I cannot describe what I have been going through. People are calling me a liar. They intimidated my friend and forced her to give a false statement. She was present in the room on the day of the incident. They are threatening me as well. I will soon hold a press conference with all the evidence.”

Meanwhile, Badoli’s wife, Geeta Kaushik Badoli, while speaking to the media, termed allegations against her husband politically motivated, and demanded a CBI probe into the case.

Contacted by ThePrint Wednesday over phone, Geeta said she is a homemaker who has been living with her husband for the past 40 years and knows him very well. “This is a well-planned strategy to stop my husband from being elected as state BJP President when he was all set to get elected,” she added.

Asked why she wanted the case to be transferred to the CBI when the FIR had been registered by the Himachal Pradesh Police in Kasauli, Kaushik said that the CBI would do “doodh ka doodh, pani ka pani” (separate the wheat from the chaff and bring out the truth).

“This is also in the interest of the woman who has lodged the FIR because the CBI functions transparently,” Badoli’s wife said.

On 13 December 2024, a case of gang rape was registered against Badoli (63) and Mittal at the Kasauli Police Station in Himachal Pradesh. The woman alleged that on 3 July 2023, she was forced to drink alcohol and then gang-raped at a hotel in Kasauli.

Meanwhile, Badoli, who has been avoiding public appearances ever since allegations against him became public, made two organisational appointments in the state BJP Tuesday.

He appointed Jind-based advocate Vijay Pal Singh as the convener of the newly created ‘One Nation, One Election’ committee and Madan Mohan Chhabra, a resident of Kurukshetra, as the co-convener.

‘What they did to me is beyond words’

The victim said that she was from Delhi and wanted to share her pain with everyone.

“I want to tell you about an incident that happened to me. Just thinking about it makes me want to die. But I cannot do that. What happened to me was wrong. Two men assaulted me on the night of 3 July 2023, in Kasauli. They were brutal. They didn’t even consider their age.”

She also said, “What they did to me is beyond words. I would like to name them—Mohan Lal Badoli and Rocky Mittal, also known as Jai Bhagwan, whose names are viral on social media. Only I know how much they wronged me. It’s hard to even talk about.”

She said she knew what she had been through for the past year and a half.

“I am living in fear due to their political power and influence. They have threatened to kill me. People are questioning the truthfulness of my case. I want to ask those who call me a liar: If an older man did this to your daughter, would you blame her? Would you speak ill of her? Why can’t they be at fault? What happened to me was wrong,” she added.

“I want to share something else. There were two witnesses to the case: my boss and my friend. My friend was in the same room. Her address was only on the hotel ID and with the police. They found her address, intimidated her, and forced her to give a false statement. I understand her pain. They are scaring her just as they are threatening me,” she further said.

“My friend also said we haven’t met since leaving Kasauli. But she must remember that they called us to Panchkula and filed a false complaint against us there, trying to trap me. I request my fellow citizens, the Women’s Commission, and the Indian government to ensure my address is not disclosed. My life is at risk. If they can find my friend’s address, they can find mine too,” she added.

“I urge everyone to support me. I cannot leave this fight halfway. I will hold a press conference with all the evidence soon,” the victim said.

Badoli and Mittal were booked for gang rape on 13 December 2024. On 14 January 2025, a copy of the FIR surfaced. The woman claimed she was travelling to Kasauli with her friend and her boss, Amit, when they met Badoli and Mittal at a hotel.

The two allegedly lured the women to their room. Badoli allegedly promised her a job and Mittal claiming he could make her a model. They forced the women to drink alcohol, then gang-raped her and threw her out of the room. Later, they called the women to Panchkula and tried to trap them in a false case, the FIR said.
