Beed, Apr 25 (PTI) A 55-year-old woman died after a neem tree collapsed in an agricultural field at Mogara in Majalgaon tehsil of the district, police said.
The incident took place at around 4 pm on Friday as strong winds lashed the area.
The deceased was identified as Sumanbai Haribhau Ghanghav, a goat herder.
A branch of the tree pierced Ghangav’s abdomen, causing her serious injuries, said a police official.
She was shifted to a hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar but doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Ghangav was the primary breadwinner for her family, local sources said.
