USAID Assistant Administrator for Global Health to visit India

Atul Gawande, the Assistant Administrator for Global Health at the US Agency for International Development (USAID), is all set to visit India where he will discuss strengthening the health partnership between the two countries.

His visit will be aimed at addressing some of the world’s toughest development challenges by using emerging technologies to advance global health goals.

The US and India have been working together to develop and implement healthcare models and high-impact innovations to address complex health challenges worldwide. The two nations are now partnering to further advance and achieve shared global health and development priorities.

“As two of the world’s largest economies and hubs for technology and innovation, the United States and India partner to test and pilot healthcare models and high-impact innovations to address complex health challenges that can be scaled and replicated, not just in India, but worldwide,” the US Embassy said in an official statement.

During his visit, Gawande will also engage with government officials, healthcare professionals, academics, civil society, and business leaders in New Delhi, Dewas, and Indore.
