UP: Two brick kiln workers died in road accident in Amethi

Amethi (UP), Mar 20 (PTI) Two individuals riding a motorcycle died after a truck hit them from behind near a village in the district, police said on Friday.

According to the police, Chandrika Prasad, 50, and Vijay Kumar, 35, both residents of Raebareli district, worked at a brick kiln in Deoria district.

While they were returning home on a motorcycle late on Thursday night, a speeding truck hit their motorcycle from behind near Mubarakpur village in the Jagdishpur area. Both men died on the spot.

Jagdishpur SHO Dhirendra Yadav said the bodies have been sent for a post-mortem, and a case has been registered against an unidentified person under the BNS.

Police have seized the truck, while the driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle, police said. PTI COR NAV SHS SHS
