Muzaffarnagar (UP), Apr 14 (PTI) An Uttar Pradesh Police sub-inspector was suspended after he allegedly skipped his duty and was found in an inebriated state during Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s programme in Muzaffarnagar, officials said on Tuesday.

Circle Officer Yatendra Nagar told reporters that Sub-Inspector Chaube Singh was placed under suspension for not reporting for duty during the CM’s visit on Monday and for allegedly being under the influence of alcohol.

He said a video had surfaced on social media showing Singh in an inebriated condition.

Singh, who is posted at Fugana police station, was allegedly found intoxicated in the Sadar tehsil office premises after remaining absent from duty, and the video was recorded and circulated online, Nagar said.

The officer added that Singh was suspended after undergoing a medical examination.

Chief Minister Adityanath had visited Muzaffarnagar on Monday to inaugurate an exhibition and attend other official programmes, police said. PTI COR KIS NB NB
