Etawah (UP), Jul 24 (PTI) Bodies of a man and woman were found on the Delhi-Howrah railway route near Sarai Bhopat railway station in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district on Friday morning, police said.

The bodies were spotted by villagers along the Tundla-Kanpur section of the railway line, who alerted the local Jaswant Nagar police.

Station House Officer Kamal Bhati said the bodies were found lying beside the railway track.

“Prima facie, the case appears to be related to a love affair. It is suspected that the two died by suicide after being run over by a train. The incident appears to have taken place during the night,” he said.

Police have begun efforts to establish the identities of the deceased and have sought information on missing young men and women from police stations in neighbouring districts, the officer said.

The bodies have been kept in the mortuary for identification, he added. PTI COR KIS NB NB
