Umaria (MP), Apr 25 (PTI) Two members of a family were killed, and two others sustained injuries after their motorcycle crashed into a stationary truck parked on the roadside in Madhya Pradesh’s Umaria district in the wee hours of Saturday, police said.
The accident occurred around 2 am on National Highway 43 near Amaha village, Kotwali police station house officer (SHO) Madanlal Marabi told PTI.
He said that the victims were on a single motorcycle, which lost control, veering off the road before the crash.
Police rushed to the spot and transported all four victims to the district hospital, where two of them died during treatment, he added.
The deceased, Sanan Baiga (18) and Abhishek Baiga (20), were cousins, the official said, adding that the injured, Shivam Baiga (10) and Chhotu Baiga (25), have been moved to government-run Shahdol Medical College and Hospital for treatment.
Shivam’s condition is said to be critical, he said.
