New Delhi: Tillu Tajpuriya, an accused in a shoot-out at the Rohini court complex, was killed Tuesday in an an attack by four inmates said to be from a rival gang inside the high-risk ward of Tihar jail, prison officials said.
The attackers, involved with the Gogi gang, used an improvised weapon that was made by cutting open an iron grill installed on the first floor of the ward, the officials said.
Tajpuriya was taken to Delhi’s Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital at around 6.45am. He was declared dead at the hospital after getting first aid at the jail complex, the officials added.
Tajpuriya, whose name was Sunil Mann, was attacked allegedly by gangster Yogesh Tunda and his aides, the officials said. The others involved in the attack, which took place around 6.45am, were Deepak, Rajesh and Riyaz Khan.
