Thane, Apr 2 (PTI) Three autorickshaw drivers were arrested in Dombivali in Thane district for allegedly gangraping a 22-year-old woman security guard, a police official said on Thursday.

The incident took place on the night of March 27, and an FIR was registered the next day, the Tilak Nagar police station senior inspector Vojaykumar Kadam said.

“The victim knew the accused. She was invited by them to a flat in Khambalpada for a party, during which she was gangraped. After the woman approached police, special teams were formed and accused Chetan Chauhan (20), Hemant Chauhan (22), and Umesh Verma (30), all rickshaw drivers, were held on March 29,” he said.

The three have been charged with gangrape and other offences under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Kadam said. PTI COR BNM
