Technology has brought journalists and their readers closer. Readers can communicate with media organisations and journalists about their work, give them feedback, ask questions, and even criticise, point out errors if any.

A Readers’ Editor is a more evolved and formal institution that takes responsibility for this process of interaction.

Besides being responsive to feedback, complaints and grievances from readers, the Readers’ Editor also explains the choices made by and practices in a media organisation.

As ThePrint nears its fourth birthday and stands on a firm footing of credible and fair journalism, we are happy to announce the appointment of Shailaja Bajpai as our Readers’ Editor.

Shailaja’s career has spanned reporting, editing, writing columns across reputed publications, besides ThePrint, as well as teaching journalism. She brings her rich experience and wide knowledge to this critical role.

Please do mail any legitimate grievances on content published in ThePrint.in to readers.editor@theprint.in and Shailaja will take them up with the newsroom.

She will also, in this role, write a monthly column about what she thought of ThePrint’s coverage.

Please join me in warmly welcoming Shailaja and wishing her success in this role.

Editor-in-Chief
