New Delhi, Jul 4 (PTI) The Tamil translation of bestselling author Amish’s “War of Lanka” is out, announced Westland Books on Tuesday.

The fourth book in Amish’s popular ‘Ram Chandra Series’, seamlessly weaves the parallel multi-linear narratives of the first three books — “Ram: Scion of Ikshvaku”, “Sita: Warrior of Mithila” and “Raavan: Enemy of Aryavarta” — into a single narrative.

“I have some news for all my Tamil readers. Thanks to your love and support, I’ve been able to finish the fourth novel in the Ram Chandra Series. This story picks up from where we left off in Raavan, Goddess Sita’s kidnapping triggers a slaughterous war in Lanka. Goddess Sita’s resilience and Lord Ram’s journey to Lanka and the slaying of the formidable king of Lanka is at the heart of this book. I hope you like it,” Amish said in a statement.

While the first three books of the series explored the individual journeys of Ram, Sita and Raavan, the fourth book sees their “narrative strands crash into each other and explode in a slaughterous war”.

According to the publishers, the Tamil edition of “War of Lanka” from the Ram Chandra series — which is touted to be the second fastest-selling book series in the Indian publishing history — will be available on offline and online stores.

The book will also be available as an ebook on Kindle and the Pratilipi app.

“We’re delighted to be publishing the fourth book in the Ram Chandra Series, War of Lanka, in Tamil. It will most certainly match up to the success of Ram: The Scion of Ikshvaku, Sita: Warrior of Mithila and Raavan: Enemy of Aryavarta,” said Minakshi Thakur, publisher (Indian Literature) at Westland.

The English edition of the book was released by Harper Collins in October last year. PTI MG MAH MAH
