New Delhi: The sale of Khadi national flags has increased significantly in the last three years. In the year 2023-24, the total sale of national flags made of Khadi reached Rs 10.45 crore, which is 1101.15 percent more than the previous year, announced Khadi and Village Industries Commission Manoj Kumar while addressing Khadi workers, a PIB press release stated.

According to the information by PIB, the sale of national flags made of Khadi in the year 2013-14 was only 87 lakh. This has increased significantly in the last three years due to the efforts of the current government, Kumar said, “and the Khadi workers have played a crucial role in nation-building.”

Calling Khadi the soul of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” and the basis of the economy of rural India, Kumar said, “This is an important step in achieving the goal of self-reliant India. This is an effort to make Khadi, the symbol of our freedom struggle, more relevant, which reflects our unwavering devotion towards the nation.”
