Chandigarh, Apr 2 (PTI) The Haryana government has approved Rs 37.60 crore for the construction of eight new primary health centres (PHCs) in rural areas, Health Minister Arti Singh Rao said on Thursday.
She said the move is aimed at strengthening healthcare services and improving access for people living in villages.
The PHCs will be set up at Bangaon and Samain in Fatehabad district; Ladwa in Hisar district; Girawar and Samar Gopalpur in Rohtak district; Farmana and Sargathal in Sonipat district; and Mallekan in Sirsa district.
Rao said the existing PHC building at Mallekan has been declared unsafe and will be replaced with a new facility with modern amenities. In the other locations, PHCs will be built for the first time.
The minister said Rs 11.44 crore will be provided under the 15th Finance Commission, while Rs 26.16 crore will come from the state budget, taking the total cost to Rs 37.60 crore.
