The district administration, in an official release on Monday, credited structural reforms for the faster delivery of healthcare aid.
“The establishment of district offices, a completely paperless application process, and prompt processing of requests have brought about positive changes. The cooperation of hospitals, charitable institutions, and donors through memoranda of understanding (MoU) and crowdfunding has further strengthened this initiative,” the release stated.
The administration highlighted a significant milestone achieved through an MoU signed between the Chief Minister’s Assistance Fund Cell, BPCL Foundation, and Tata Memorial Centre.
This partnership specifically targets childhood cancer, utilising Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to ensure quality treatment for underprivileged children, it stated.
According to official data, a total of 40,776 patients across Maharashtra received assistance of more than Rs 333 crore from April 2025 to March this year, of which Thane district accounted for Rs 21.74 crore, which was distributed to 2,514 beneficiaries.
Decentralisation and the digital application process have ensured that aid reaches patients in a timely and transparent manner, said Rameshwar Naik, Head of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Charity Hospital Help Cell.
