Chennai, Sep 19 (PTI) A 10-year-old male tiger recently rescued from Tamil Nadu’s Gudalur forest division has been safely relocated to the Arignar Anna Zoological Park familiarly known as Vandalur Zoo here, Tamil Nadu Forest department said on Saturday.
The tiger was rescued following concerns of human-tiger conflict.
The wild cat has safely been brought to the Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre at the Zoo for continued care, rehabilitation and monitoring.
“The tiger is presently active and healthy and is under close observation by the veterinary and animal-care teams. It is being provided with appropriate veterinary care, nutritional support, enrichment and a safe and secure environment, with necessary arrangements in place for its continued care and welfare,” a release from the Zoo said.
