Mumbai, Jul 30 (PTI) Rear Admiral Srinivas Maddula has assumed command of the Indian Navy’s Western Fleet in Mumbai.
He took charge of the fleet of the Mumbai-headquartered Western Naval Command (WNC) from Vice-Admiral Vivek Dahiya on July 27, an official statement said on Thursday.
Commissioned into the Navy on January 1, 1994, the Flag Officer is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla (Pune), the United States Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Virginia, and the Naval War College, Goa, it said.
He has held key afloat and shore appointments in the Navy, including Command of INFAC T-80, IN ships Nipat, Godavari, Ganga and Trikand, and the base depot ship INS Kadamba, according to the statement.
Prior to his current appointment, Rear Admiral Maddula served as Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Foreign Cooperation and Intelligence) at Naval Headquarters, New Delhi, and as the Flag Officer, Sea Training in Southern Naval Command, Kochi, it added. PTI PR RSY
