Jaipur, Apr 21 (PTI) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Tuesday said a detailed probe has been ordered into the fire incident at the Pachpadra refinery and assured full support to restore operations at the earliest.

Sharma, who visited the refinery site and chaired a high-level review meeting with officials, said the incident was being taken very seriously.

“I have inspected the Rajasthan refinery at Pachpadra and held a high-level review meeting with officials. Taking the incident at the refinery premises with utmost seriousness, instructions have been given for a detailed investigation,” he said in a statement.

The chief minister also interacted with fire personnel and emergency response teams who were involved in dousing the blaze in the crude distillation unit (CDU).

“Spoke to fire brigade personnel and emergency response teams who played a leading role in promptly controlling the fire in the CDU,” he said.

Citing preliminary inputs from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Sharma said the damage was limited.

“According to initial information provided by HPCL officials, the damage is confined to a limited area. Our government is committed to extending full support to HPCL to ensure that this important and ambitious project of the state is restarted at the earliest,” he added. PTI AG PRK
