New Delhi, Jun 22 (PTI) Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 27.3 degrees Celsius on Monday, with the weather office predicting rain and thunderstorms.

Safdarjung, the city’s base station, recorded 27.3 degrees Celsius, 0.7 notches below the season’s average, according to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Among the city’s weather stations, Palam recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 24.7 degrees Celsius, followed by Ridge at 24.6 degrees Celsius and Ayanagar at 25.3 degrees Celsius. Lodhi Road logged a minimum temperature of 26.6 degrees Celsius.

No rainfall was recorded in any of the major weather stations in Delhi till 8.30 am on Monday, according to the IMD data.

Delhi’s air quality was recorded in the ‘poor’ category, with the average air quality index (AQI) being clocked at 206, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

According to the CPCB, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.

The maximum temperature in Delhi is likely to be around 38 degrees Celsius and thunderstorms with rain are expected in parts of the city, according to the IMD. PTI VBH DV DV
