New Delhi, Apr 2 (PTI) The Public Works Department’s proposed 16-kilometre elevated road project over the Munak Canal is yet to take off for want of a no-objection certificate from the Haryana government, an official source said on Thursday.
The matter was raised in a meeting between both governments earlier.
“We are pursuing the matter with Haryana government officials. Further technical details are being worked out,” the source said.
The project was announced last year to ease traffic in Outer Delhi areas.
The elevated corridor is supposed to cross in places over the Munak Canal, which is currently maintained by the Haryana government.
A PWD official said that a detailed project report has been shared with the Haryana government.
The government in the neighbouring state has raised concerns over the impact of the corridor on the canal, including desilting, which is carried out with heavy machinery. PTI SSM VN VN
