New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the LokManthan-2024 event in Hyderabad, Telangana, Friday. The President commended the organizers for their efforts in strengthening India’s cultural unity through the event, a PIB release stated.
Emphasizing the importance of understanding India’s cultural and intellectual heritage, President Murmu stated that it is crucial for citizens to appreciate and uphold the nation’s invaluable traditions.  She highlighted India’s diverse cultural landscape, stating that despite differences, the shared identity of being Indian unites the nation.  President Murmu noted that whether one is a forest dweller, villager, or city dweller, all are Indians, united by this shared identity.

President Murmu acknowledged historical attempts to divide Indian society, citing the creation of artificial distinctions to undermine national unity. However, she praised the enduring spirit of Indianness that has prevailed despite these challenges, the release added. She also noted that LokManthan is spreading this feeling of national unity, which she believes is essential for India’s development.
