Gurugram, Jul 3 (PTI) Piped Natural Gas (PNG) supply was hit in many areas here on Friday evening due to a pipeline puncture in Sector 56, an official said.

Many apartments, including Belvedere and HEWO Apartments, were affected, forcing residents to eat out or order food online.

The PNG supply was disrupted due to a gas pipeline puncture in Sector 56 around 5:40 pm. The authorities issued a notice on WhatsApp groups of the residential societies around 6 pm.

“This is to inform you that the HCG gas line has been interrupted due to a gas line puncture in Sector 56. Repair work is currently in progress and is expected to take approximately four hours to complete. We regret the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and cooperation,” read the WhatsApp message.

When contacted, Managing Director of Haryana City Gas (HCG) Rahul Chopra said that he was out of town and would have to check what had happened. He could not be contacted later.

According to residents, the gas supply had not been restored even after 9.30 pm.

“I reached home around 6 pm and there was no PNG supply in all 216 flats of our society. When the concerned agency was contacted, it said the pipeline was being repaired and the supply would be restored by 9:30 pm.

“However, the gas supply had not been restored even after 9.30 pm,” said Ajmer Siwach, a resident of HEWO Apartments.

Another resident said his family was planning to dine out due to the PNG supply disruption. PTI COR DIV DIV
