Part of slab collapses in Navi Mumbai residential building, no injuries

Thane, Apr 21 (PTI) A portion of a slab from the fifth floor of a residential building in Nerul area of Navi Mumbai collapsed into a flat below on Tuesday, an official said, adding that nobody was injured.

Sachin Kadam, Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) officer of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, said the incident occurred at Woodland Co-operative Housing Society.

“A slab from the fifth floor crashed into the hall of a fourth-floor flat. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident,” Kadam added.

He said the building was evacuated as a precautionary measure with the assistance of fire personnel and civic staff.

According to the official, a total of 21 families residing in the building were shifted to safer locations. PTI COR NSK
