Faridabad, Jul 30 (PTI) The decomposing body of a 36-year-old painter was recovered from his lover’s rented home in Faridabad’s Anangpur village on Thursday, with a sharp-edged injury mark on his neck, police said.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Sadaqat Ali, a native of Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district, had been living in a rented room in Anangpur village for the past four months and worked as a painter at Omaxe Society.
Police said Anita, a native of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh, was also staying as a tenant in the same accommodation and worked as a cleaner at the Omaxe Society.
The two became acquainted and eventually developed a relationship. However, after the landlord learnt about their relationship, Anita was asked to vacate the premises.
According to the complaint filed by Sadaqat’s brother, Nazakat Ali, Anita shifted to a rented room in Domka Mohalla of Anangpur village around 15 days ago, and Sadaqat frequently visited her there.
Nazakat alleged that on July 23, Sadaqat left home saying he was going to Aligarh but never returned. His mobile phone also became unreachable. When Nazakat contacted Anita, she allegedly denied that Sadaqat had visited her.
The complaint further alleged that Sadaqat was called to Anita’s rented room, where she, along with another person, murdered him four to five days ago before locking the room from the outside and fleeing.
The decomposing body was recovered from the room on Thursday.
Based on the complaint, Surajkund police registered an FIR for murder against Anita.
“We have registered an FIR for murder against the suspect, Anita. The matter is under investigation, and the facts will become clear during the probe,” said Inspector Prahlad Singh, SHO of Surajkund police station. PTI COR NB NB
