Over 1000 e-Sewa Kendras established to give free legal information

1072 centers in district courts and 27 in high courts across the country have been set up.

New Delhi: 1072 e-Sewa Kendras in District Courts and 27 e-Sewa Kendras in High Courts across the country to provide free information to people regarding court cases, orders, and judgments, a PIB press release stated.

These one stop centre are being set up by the government as part of the eCourts Mission Mode Project.

Sewa Kendras provides a number of services including handling inquiries about case status, next date of hearing, and other related details. It also allows people to file online applications for certified copies of documents. It is further possible to e-file petitions by scanning hard copy petitions, appending e signatures, and uploading them onto the CIS. The center also assists in the online purchase of e-stamp papers and e-payments.

Other services provided by eSewa Kendras include helping in the application and obtaining Aadhaar’s digital signature, facilitating the booking of eMulakat appointments for meeting relatives in jail, and providing easy access to court information.
