Kolkata, May 8 (PTI) West Bengal Governor RN Ravi on Thursday said ‘Operation Sindoor’ reaffirmed India’s “uncompromising stand against terrorism” and reflected the country’s resolve to respond firmly to threats against national security.

In a post marking the anniversary of the operation, Ravi praised the armed forces for their “precision, courage and resolve” during the mission.

“Responding to the cowardly attack on innocent civilians at Pahalgam, our armed forces acted with precision, courage and resolve, sending a clear message that Bharat will respond firmly to every act of terrorism,” the governor said.

He said the operation demonstrated the “valour and exceptional preparedness” of the armed forces, seamless coordination among different services, and the growing strength of indigenous defence capabilities under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

“It marked a decisive shift in Bharat’s approach to national security, guided by clarity, conviction and an unwavering commitment to safeguard national interests,” Ravi said.

Paying tribute to military personnel, the governor said the nation saluted the “bravery, sacrifice and steadfast dedication” of men and women in uniform.

“Operation Sindoor remains a proud symbol of Bharat’s resolve to defend its people and sovereignty with firmness and decisive strength,” he added.

Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, with Indian forces conducting precision strikes on multiple terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir (PoK). PTI SCH MNB
