Amaravati, Apr 6 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Civil Supplies Director Nupur Ajay Kumar on Monday said there is no shortage of LPG, petrol, diesel or fertilisers in the state and assured that adequate stocks are available to meet the demand.
He noted that supply systems for LPG, petrol and diesel are being continuously monitored and necessary coordination is being carried out with departments to ensure uninterrupted availability across the state.
“There is no shortage of cooking gas, petrol or diesel in the state, people should not believe rumours circulating on social media and should not panic as sufficient stocks are available,” said Kumar in an official press release.
According to the official, the state currently has around 14,000 tonnes of LPG stock, while daily consumption stands at about 4,000 tonnes. The supply has increased to 4,100 tonnes.
She said 100 percent home delivery of gas cylinders is being ensured, eliminating the need for consumers to visit agencies, and bookings can be made through Whatsapp, Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS), missed calls or mobile applications.
Kumar said that to prevent panic booking, the next booking is allowed only after 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas.
Highlighting enforcement measures, she said OTP-based delivery has been implemented up to 90 percent to curb illegal diversion of cylinders and warned of strict action against violators.
She said from March 1 till now, over 1,000 cases have been registered and nearly 4,400 cylinders seized for illegal diversion and unauthorised activities.
The director said petrol and diesel supply continues normally in the state, with no change in prices and adequate stocks available at all outlets.
She urged the public to avoid panic booking, refrain from hoarding gas based on false propaganda, and rely only on official sources for information. PTI MS ROH
