New Delhi: New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Winston Peters, Wednesday called on India’s Vice President, Jagdeep Dhankhar. Among issues discussed were economic cooperation, connectivity, and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
The Deputy PM and Vice President also discussed ways to deepen cooperation in regional and global challenges. The meeting was marked by a joint press statement after the talks, in which both the leaders pledged to strengthen the ties between New Zealand and India.
“The Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of New Zealand, Mr. Winston Peters, called on the Hon’ble Vice-President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar at the Upa-Rashtrapati Nivas today. Discussions between the leaders highlighted the warm and friendly relations between India and New Zealand, founded on common values rooted in democracy and the rule of law, and focused on enhancing economic cooperation, connectivity and people-to-people ties between the two nations,” said the Vice President in a post on X.
Winston Peters is currently on an official visit to India, which began on 10 March and is aimed at strengthening the cooperation between the two nations.
