Kolkata, Jul 24 (PTI) The Calcutta High Court has directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to respond by July 28 to a 2026 NEET (UG) candidate’s allegation that her answer sheet was not properly evaluated.

Srija Mahanti, an aspiring MBBS course candidate, moved the high court praying for a direction to the NTA to re-evaluate her OMR answer sheet.

Justice Amrita Sinha on Thursday directed the NTA to respond to the allegation made by the NEET (undergraduate) 2026 candidate by July 28.

Annexing the final answer key published by the NTA and her answer sheet, Mahanti claimed that it was not evaluated properly.

Mahanti claimed that after comparing her OMR answer sheet with the final answer key, she found she had received much lower marks than estimated.

She also prayed for a direction to the NTA to permit her to participate in the counselling process for admission to undergraduate medical courses based on corrected marks and revised rank and merit position following re-evaluation. PTI AMR ACD
