NCP MP Fauzia Khan thanks PM Modi for showing interest in LIGO project

Aurangabad (Maha), Mar 24 (PTI) Nationalist Congress Party’s Rajya Sabha member Fauzia Khan on Friday said she met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and sought cabinet sanction and funds for the LIGO project in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district.

Khan tweeted about the meeting on Friday.

In her social media post, Khan thanked Modi for showing keen interest in the LIGO project and promising to look into the development of Science city at Aundha Nagnath.

Earlier, Khan had written a letter to the prime minister, demanding cabinet sanction and budgetary allocation for a Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) which was proposed to be set up in Aundha Nagnath area of Hingoli.

It had got in-principle approval in 2016, her letter said.
