Nanded (Maharashtra), May 7 (PTI) In view of the heatwave conditions, the Nanded district administration in Maharashtra has prohibited private coaching institutes from conducting in-person classes for students between noon and 4 pm, officials said.
Nanded, located in the Marathwada region, has been witnessing high temperatures for the last few days.
To safeguard students’ health and prevent exposure to extreme heat, District Collector Rahul Kardile, in an order issued on Wednesday, directed the coaching institutes to conduct classes only during morning and evening hours or shift to online/digital modes.
The administration has also instructed institutes to stay updated with weather advisories issued by the Meteorological Department and take necessary precautions. These include ensuring the availability of drinking water, providing shaded spaces, and spreading awareness about health safety measures among students.
Authorities have warned of strict action against any institution found violating the order. PTI COR GK
