Dimapur, Apr 13 (PTI) Nagaland BJP Mahila Morcha president Tsachola Rothrong on Monday said the amendment to the Women’s Reservation Act will be a transformative step for Indian democracy and will pave the way for inclusive and participatory governance.

Speaking to media persons here, she said the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam mandates 33 per cent reservation for women in both the Lok Sabha and state Legislative Assemblies, including provisions within seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

This act will ensure that women finally occupy their rightful positions within the nation’s highest decision-making bodies, she said.

She said with the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, Naga women will now have constitutionally guaranteed representation in legislative governance.

This will open a new chapter of leadership, participation and policy influence for women in our state, she said.

The BJP Mahila Morcha president urged all stakeholders across political spheres to support this historic reform in its true spirit, stating that the empowerment of women is not a partisan issue, but it is a national priority and collective responsibility.

“This is not just the rise of Nari Shakti, this is the rise of a new India where every daughter leads, every woman decides, and the nation moves forward with unstoppable strength,” she added. PTI CORR NBS NBS RG
