Medininagar (Jharkhand), Apr 16 (PTI) Jharkhand Police on Thursday arrested a youth for allegedly raping a woman in Palamu district’s Chainpur, an officer said.
Acting on a complaint lodged by the 22-year-old victim, police arrested the accused, identified as Rabbani Ansari (30), officer-in-charge of Chainpur police station Sriram Sharma said.
The accused has been sent to judicial custody, he added.
According to police, the accused allegedly broke open a window to enter the victim’s house on Wednesday night and committed the crime.
The victim’s husband, a labourer, was away from home for work.
The victim, who has two daughters and a son, was sent to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for a medical check-up, police added. PTI Cor BS MNB
