Jaipur, Apr 25 (PTI) A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by two men in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, officials said on Saturday.
“The incident occurred on Thursday when two men allegedly abducted the 15-year-old girl, who was on her way to school, in a car and gang-raped her,” Rajgarh Circle Officer Manisha Meena said, adding that the police have arrested one of the accused, Rahul Saini, 23, on Friday night.
Reacting to the incident, former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot said the incident has shattered the credibility of the BJP government’s law and order machinery.
A search for the other absconding accused is underway, the circle officer said.
“According to media reports, obscene videos of several young girls were recovered from the mobile phone of the rape accused. This reveals that these criminals had been perpetrating such acts repeatedly, yet the police remained completely oblivious to it,” Gehlot said.
“When the police fail to take action regarding other incidents, the audacity of such criminals only grows,” Gehlot said. PTI SDA SHS SHS
