New Delhi: The Ministry of Textiles organised a series of cleanliness and waste management initiatives across its offices, educational institutions, and affiliated organisations as part of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2024’ campaign.

The campaign is part of the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India cleaner and greener, a PIB release stated. The Ministry’s efforts were aimed at creating awareness about cleanliness and sustainability through various activities involving employees, students, and officials.

Some of the activities include ‘waste to wealth’ initiatives at NIFT Campuses where students transformed waste materials into usable products, decorative pieces, murals, and sculptures. The ‘cleanliness drive’ at the Ministry of Textiles headquarters was conducted by senior officers visiting different divisions and sections to ensure cleanliness.

The Ministry of Textiles has organized a series of competitions on slogan writing, quote writing, and painting across its offices and educational institutions to engage the community. The competitions aim to encourage participants to express their ideas on cleanliness and environmental protection through art and creativity.

The ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2024’ campaign is being observed across the country in the lead-up to the Swachh Bharat Diwas on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October. The campaign aims to set an example of cleanliness in the workplace and promote a clean and healthy working environment for all employees.
