Jaipur, Apr 14 (PTI) A man was beaten to death following a dispute during a social event in Banswara district in Rajasthan, officials said on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Anil, 28, police said, adding that the two named accused have been detained and are being questioned in connection with the incident.
Banswara Superintendent of Police Sudhir Joshi said that the incident occurred in Kali Magri village in Khemra area when a quarrel broke out during the social gathering on Tuesday, which turned violent, leading to the fatal assault on Anil.
Upon receiving information in the wee hours on Tuesday about the badly beaten man admitted to a local hospital, a team rushed to the spot. In his statement, Anil named a woman and two men of thrashing him. Anil died during treatment at the district hospital.
He said that the body was shifted to the mortuary for a postmortem.
