Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 14 (PTI) Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday extended greetings to people on the eve of the harvest festival Vishu, urging them to embrace the occasion with hope and renewed optimism.

Arlekar, in his message, said Vishu marks the beginning of a new year filled with hope, prosperity, and new beginnings.

“The sight of the Vishukkani reminds us of the abundance, prosperity, and gratitude that enrich our lives,” he said.

The Governor said the auspicious festival is also a time to reaffirm commitment to harmony, compassion, and collective progress, adding that the light of Vishu should guide people towards peace, unity, and prosperity for all.

“Let us celebrate this festival by spreading joy, helping those in need, and strengthening the bonds that unite us as one society. May this Vishu bring happiness, good health, and success to every home,” he added.

Chief Minister Vijayan said Vishu, a symbol of prosperity and abundance, should inspire people to move forward with greater strength while upholding the values of goodness and humanity.

He said festivals convey the broader message that all human beings are equal, beyond differences, and called upon people to preserve unity and brotherhood.

Vijayan also urged people to work together to build a prosperous “New Kerala” by strengthening social harmony and extended Vishu greetings to Malayalis across the world. PTI LGK SSK
