According to an official note signed by Police Commissioner Ajay Nand, the transfers were made in compliance with directives issued by the Chief Electoral Officer.

Meanwhile, Inspector Chameli Mukherjee, who was serving as Additional OC of Alipore police station, has been transferred as OC of Ultadanga women’s police station.

“Such administrative reshuffles are routinely undertaken by the Election Commission to ensure neutrality and maintain law and order during the poll process,” an official said.
