Ranchi, Jul 22 (PTI) Jharkhand will soon launch aircraft maintenance engineering and air hostess training courses at the government level, an official said on Wednesday.
The courses will be offered at the Jharkhand Flying Institute (JFI) in Dhanbad and are scheduled to be inaugurated by Chief Minister Hemant Soren in November on the state’s foundation day, the official said.
According to an official release, the JFI has signed a memorandum of understanding with a Delhi-based firm for the AME course and an agreement with AISECT Limited, Bhopal, for the air hostess training programme.
The courses, which will be operated under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, will start after permission from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), it added.
As many as 60 seats have been allocated for the AME course, which is a three-year programme with a total fee of Rs 6 lakh, payable in three annual installments of Rs 2 lakh each.
“Two courses — with durations of six months and 12 months — will be offered for air hostess training, with 60 seats available for each. The fee for the six-month course is set at Rs 1,00,500, while the fee for the 12-month diploma course is Rs 1,55,500. These fees cover the uniform, grooming kit, and swimming training,” it added.
With the launch of the courses, youth from Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh will no longer need to travel to distant states for training in the aviation sector, the release said.
