Jalna, Jul 14 (PTI) The headmaster of a Zilla Parishad school in Maharashtra’s Jalna district was booked for allegedly passing out on the floor of a classroom in an inebriated state, a police official said on Monday.

The incident took place in the ZP school in Takli village in Bhokardan tehsil on Friday and the headmaster has been identified as Damu Bhimrao Rojekar, the official said.

“He was spotted lying on the floor of a classroom in a drunken state by former sarpanch Baliram Gavande. At the time, students were left unattended and most were playing outside. Block Education Officer SB Newhar reached the school and called assistant sub inspector Bhaskar Jadhav,” the official said.

Rojekar’s blood alcohol test returned positive, after which a case was registered against him, the official added.

Incidentally, on June 20, a teacher was found drunk in Gadegavan village in the district’s Jafrabad tehsil during school hours. Teacher VK Munde was suspended by the education department after a video of the incident went viral on social media. PTI COR BNM
