New Delhi: The Indian Army contingent of 40 soldiers has departed for Mongolia to take part in the Multinational Military Exercise KHAAN QUEST 2024. The exercise will run from July 27 to August 9, 2024, at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

This is the 21st edition of the annual exercise, which began as a bilateral event between the USA and the Mongolian Armed Forces in 2003. The exercise now involves military forces from around the world, with a focus on high-degree physical fitness, joint planning, and joint tactical drills.

The drills will include the establishment of static and mobile check points, cordon and search operations, patrolling, evacuation of civilians from hostile areas, counter improvised explosive device drills, combat first aid and casualty evacuation, and others. The exercise will also provide an opportunity for the participating countries to share their best practices in tactics, techniques, and procedures for joint operations.

The exercise will strengthen the interoperability and military readiness of the Indian Armed Forces for peacekeeping missions in a multinational environment. It will also facilitate the development of inter-operability, bonhomie, and camaraderie between soldiers of the participating countries.
