Kolkata, Apr 3 (PTI) The IMD on Friday forecast thunderstorms in some districts of West Bengal from April 5, which is likely to provide relief to citizens from the prevailing hot and humid weather.

Hot and humid weather is expected to continue in some south Bengal districts till Saturday due to dry westerly winds, the IMD said.

“With favourable wind patterns and moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal from Sunday, the weather is likely to become cooler in the coming week,” the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Temperatures are likely to gradually fall by three to four notches in the districts from Sunday, it said.

Thunderstorms are also likely to occur at one or two places over north Bengal districts, with the intensity being higher in the sub-Himalayan districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Cooch Behar till April 8, it said. PTI AMR MNB
