‘Illegal’ gun factory busted in Bihar’s Nalanda

Bihar Sharif, Jun 27 (PTI) An illegal “mini gun factory” was busted in Nalanda district of Bihar on Friday, police said.

A young couple was arrested with arms and ammunition, including a “made in USA” pistol, from the premises, police said.

According to a statement issued by the district police, a raid was conducted at a house in Sohsarai locality of Bihar Sharif town, where Nalanda is headquartered, following a tip-off.

Abhishek Kumar and his wife Sakshi, both in their 30s, were arrested from their rented flat where they had kept hidden the pistol besides several other equipment used in manufacturing illegal arms, it said.

Two magazines, besides nearly a dozen live cartridges, three mobile phones, debit and credit cards and documents like Aadhar card, PAN card and driving license were also seized from the premises, the statement said.

A case has been registered against the couple and further investigation is underway. PTI NAC RBT
